Techlife Media and Communications, organizers of the Nigerian Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS), has announced plans to empower women and girls through digital skill acquisition during this year’s edition of the summit.
The summit, themed “AI Leadership: Navigating the Future of Women in Business,” aims to address the gender gap in the tech industry and contribute to Nigeria’s digital economy growth.
WEETS 2024 will feature a two-day Advanced Digital Skills Boot Camp for 500 women and girls, providing them with practical skills to thrive in the digital age. Topics will include AI, leadership, and overcoming barriers to women’s advancement in tech.
A full-day Tech Summit will also be held to discuss challenges and opportunities for women in the digital economy, featuring panel discussions with industry experts.
“By empowering women and girls with digital skills, we can create a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria. WEETS is committed to breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for women to excel in the tech industry,” said Ugochi Emmanuel, Event Coordinator at Techlife Media and Communications.
The boot camp will take place on September 19-20, 2024, at Digital Bridge Institute, while the Tech Summit will be held on September 27, 2024, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
