A renowned caterer and Chief Executive of Country Kitchen in Akure, Ondo State, Mrs. Olakunbi Adene, was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants just five days after celebrating her 54th birthday. Her lifeless body was discovered at her residence on Oda Road, Akure, in a pool of blood.
According to a reliable source who spoke to Vanguard, Mrs. Adene’s neighbors found her body on her bed and immediately informed the house caretaker. A family member revealed that Mrs. Adene, a mother of two, had been in good health and had recently celebrated her birthday, entertaining numerous guests with food and drinks.
Her husband, Dele Adene, expressed his shock and disbelief at the news. “I was told that my wife’s corpse was found on her bed in a pool of blood, which showed she was hacked to death,” he said. Dele Adene criticized the lack of arrests, emphasizing the need for suspects to be apprehended. “Her phone should be tracked, and I don’t understand how such a thing could happen in a house with four flats without anyone knowing.”
The deceased’s daughter, Tejumade, recounted how she was informed of her mother’s death. “I came back from the church and was trying her line, but it was switched off. Later, my mother’s brother called to inform me that she had been killed.”
The remains of Mrs. Adene have been deposited at the mortuary in Akure. The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the murder and assured that an investigation is ongoing. “I am aware of the incident, and an investigation is currently ongoing,” Odunlami stated, promising that the killers would be found and brought to justice.
