NASENI and NIPSS Forge Partnership to Boost Digital Economy and Job Creation

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) are gearing up for a collaborative effort.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, unveiled this strategic collaboration during the visit of participants from the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 46 of NIPSS to the Agency on a Strategic Institution Study tour on April 15, 2024.

Halilu expressed his enthusiasm at NASENI being recognized as a key federal government agency poised to empower young Nigerians and drive job creation while fostering self-reliance in manufacturing and the digital economy sector.

Highlighting the importance of empowering stakeholders to leverage and scale up technologies, Halilu emphasized the need for a supportive policy environment, access to finance, incentives, and innovation capacities to complement the ongoing cooperation and partnerships between the two organizations.

The Director-General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, emphasized the potential for youth empowerment through the transformation of NASENI innovations into finished products and the reinforcement of collaboration between the two entities.

“Nigeria cannot have good manufacturing without infrastructures and NASENI is very important in all the sectors in the country, especially in manufacturing industries. We need an Agency like NASENI to live up to expectations, we can work together with you to find means of transferring your innovations to effective job creation and youth empowerment.” He said

As part of their mission, the NIPSS delegation aims to explore how NASENI’s technological innovations can be harnessed to foster job opportunities for Nigerian youth within the digital economy realm. The focus is on translating NASENI’s vision, mission, and roles into tangible outcomes that contribute to national development and youth empowerment.

With a keen eye on promoting job creation and enhancing the digital economy, the partnership between NASENI and NIPSS holds promise for driving innovation, economic growth, and empowerment of the Nigerian youth
