Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, also known as Ijele, is currently under legal scrutiny for serious allegations. Ofoegbu faces charges including threats to life, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying. These charges stem from a social media post where he threatened violence against Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the founder and spiritual director of Zion Prayer Movement.
Ofoegbu, known for his penchant for unsubstantiated claims and accusations, made explicit threats against Ebuka Obi, stating his intention to kill him and sever his head. Additionally, he threatened any law enforcement officer who might seek to apprehend him.
Contrary to initial speculation circulating on social media, Ofoegbu’s detention is not solely related to his accusations of fake miracles against Evangelist Ebuka. Instead, police sources indicate that he is being held on terrorism charges. This development highlights the severity of the situation and underscores the legal implications Ofoegbu faces for his actions.
“That criminal Ebuka Obi of Zion, if I don’t kill you and cut off your head, let trailer kill me on the road and your family will not even save you.” Referring to any policeman who comes to his house to arrest him, Ofoegbu who appeared in military camouflage, boasted, “Any mumu policemen who dare to come to my house to arrest me, they will shoot and shoot, before my own bullet will finish, I have people who will join me in shooting and we’ll fight to finish“.
In another social media post, Ofoegbu prominently displayed a placard with the inscription “Evangelist Ebuka Obi is a criminal and liar,” alongside tagging all miracles associated with Zion as deceptive. He urged law enforcement to take action against Obi, accusing him of transforming his religious organization into a profit-driven enterprise. Ofoegbu further condemned Obi as an orchestrator of fraudulent activities, declaring, “Arrangee Master Ebuka Obi, your scam is coming to an end,” in a video accompanying the post.
Responding to the perceived threats and defamation, the legal team representing Zion filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police (IGP). They highlighted concerns regarding the safety of Evangelist Ebuka Obi and the defamation of his character.
Following this petition, the police in Abuja summoned Ofoegbu to their station regarding allegations of criminal intimidation, threats to life, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying. As a result, Ofoegbu is presently in prison custody awaiting trial in court.
