Wolex Polytechnic celebrated its 24th matriculation program on the 23rd of March 2024. The ceremony, held at the Polytechnic Annex site in Iyanupaja, Lagos, welcomed 142 new students adorned in their matriculation robes, brimming with hopeful smiles.
Commencing with the national anthem and a minute of silence in remembrance of the founder, Late Dr. Bishop Festus Olowole Adepoju, who passed away on December 26th, 2023, the program proceeded with a speech from Dr. Mrs. Esther Adepoju, the Rector and chief consultant of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Adepoju highlighted the institution’s recent infrastructure expansion, leading to the establishment of the school annex where the 2023/2024 matriculation took place. She emphasized the challenges awaiting the students, framing them as tests of character and determination crucial for their future success. To graduate from Wolex Polytechnic, she asserted, one must embody the values of integrity and academic excellence upheld by the institution.
Wole Omoniyi Esq, the consultant representative, extended congratulations to the new students, heralding their entry into a phase of productivity and growth. He envisioned the institution molding these minds into future entrepreneurs, technocrats, and leaders, contributing to the advancement of Nigeria and Africa.
The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, including Eze Okechukwu Anorue, the Ezesinachi1 of Igbogbo Bayekun, Ikorodu Lagos, Chief Dr. Mrs. Janefrancis Chioma Okoro Aguoyoyo, State Woman Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, and Pharm. Opeyemi, Wolex Registrar and Consultant, among others.
The highlight of the ceremony was the Mr. and Miss Wolex Polytechnic beauty pageant, won by the vibrant contestant… As the Rector announced full scholarships for the winners and half scholarships for all participants, the guests were treated to captivating performances by talented dancers from Wolex Polytechnic, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere.
