LAWMA Hosts Christmas Carol and Year-End Thanksgiving Celebration

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) recently observed its annual Christmas Carol and End of the Year Thanksgiving service at the Authority’s headquarters, Ijora  Olopa. The event, attended by LAWMA’s dedicated management and staff, as well as friends and well-wishers, served as a time of reflection on the challenges and triumphs of the outgoing year.

During the event, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, represented by the Executive Director of Finance, Mr. Kunle Adebiyi, Gbadegesin expressed gratitude to God for safeguarding the management jand staff despite the obstacles encountered throughout the year.

The Christmas Carol and Year-End Thanksgiving have become deeply ingrained traditions at LAWMA, symbolizing a time for the entire authority to come together and express collective appreciation for the blessings received.

Pastor Adedayo Adepetun delivered a thought-provoking sermon centered on the theme of “Sowing and Reaping,” drawing inspiration from the biblical text in Genesis 8:22. Attendees were urged to sow positive seeds in various aspects of their lives, with the assurance that their harvest would correspond to the seeds they planted. Pastor Adepetun concluded the sermon with heartfelt prayers for God’s continued blessings upon LAWMA’s workers and everyone in attendance.

The event also featured impactful contributions, including Bible readings from Isaiah 9:6-7 by  Mr. Kunle Adebiyi, the Executive Director, Finance of LAWMA, and Mr. Adewunmi Adetona, Head of Advocacy. Additionally, LAWMA’s Emmanuel Chapel Choir delivered soul-stirring renditions of hymns and special songs, while the chapel’s children offered a captivating choreographic performance—a fitting high point for an evening filled with gratitude, reflection, and hope
