The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) hosted its special day at the annual Lagos International Trade Fair, on November 8, 2023, with the theme ‘’Connecting Business Creating Value’’. This event, a joint effort with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry marked a significant moment in promoting the telecommunications sector and fostering economic growth in the country.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Amiu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, who was represented by Mr. Reuben Muoka. Mrs. Nena Ukoha, the head of the Corporate Commission of NCC, opened the event with an introductory address, setting the tone for an engaging and enjoyable gathering. She also encouraged participants to relax and take part in various activities, including the opportunity to win smartphones and other prizes during the event.
During the event, Mr. Reuben Muoka, representing Dr. Amiu Maida, delivered a speech emphasizing the NCC”s relentless efforts to support and stimulate businesses across Nigeria, ultimately driving economic growth. The NCC’s commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring customer satisfaction was highlighted, underlining the importance of transparency for everyone in the Country.
Mr. Muoka stressed that connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity in today’s world. He stated, ”It is our duty in the commission to ensure that every business, from small startups to multinational corporations, has equal access to high-speed connectivity, regardless of their size. As a telecommunications regulator in Nigeria, we recognize that the telecommunications industry plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for citizens”

Their mission is to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that all businesses, from small startups to large corporations, have the resources and access to thrive in Nigeria’s growing digital economy
