President Tinubu Orders Retirement of NIMC Boss, Appoints Bisoye Coker-Odusote as Replacement

President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the retirement of Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Aziz has been asked to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave starting from August 24, 2023, culminating in his official retirement from service on November 24, 2023. This move was announced through an official statement released on Tuesday.

Simultaneously, President Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General and CEO of NIMC. Her tenure in this interim role will also last for 90 days, starting on August 24, 2023.

Following this transitional period, Coker-Odusote is set to assume the position of NIMC Director-General and CEO for a full four-year term commencing on November 24, 2023.

Bisoye Coker-Odusote  previously served as the General Manager and CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA
