Hollywood actress Keke Palmer faced backlash from her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, over her outfit choice while attending Usher Raymond’s show in Las Vegas. Jackson’s comments on Palmer’s attire sparked controversy and drew mixed reactions online
Palmer, 29, who recently became a mother to their son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, in February, opted for a fitted, black bodysuit under a sheer dress to watch Usher perform. However, Jackson expressed his dissatisfaction with her outfit on Twitter, writing, ‘It’s the outfit tho. You a mom.”
Jackson’s initial tweet garnered a range of responses from his followers. Undeterred, he doubled down on his stance, saying, ”We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife and mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others and he gets told how much of a hater he is, in a subsequent tweet. The fitness instructor further emphasized his beliefs, stating, ”This is my family and my representation. I have standards and morals for what I believe. I rest my case.”
His tweets quickly sparked outrage on social media, with many labelling him as insecure and toxic. Ryan Shead criticized Jackson, saying, ”Unless there is a ring on that woman’s finger, you don’t have a place, man. And even if you all were married, not a solid look publicly shaming the mother of your child for her outfit choice.”
Another user, Luh Daddy, commented, ”I liked it better when we didn’t know who you were” Adding to the backlash, Mike Diddy shared a screenshot of Jackson wearing nail polish and commented, ”You a dad tho… Wearing CVS nail polish?… This is what FAMILY MEN do??? Do straight men rock Drugstore nail polish, while simultaneously ATTACKING the women and children they can’t financially provide for.”
While Keke Palmer has yet to respond directly to Jackson’s comments, she shared new photos of her outfit on Instagram. In the captions, she expressed her excitement about the show, writing, ”I wish I had taken more pictures, but we were running late! I am telling you all right now if you haven’t seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theatre, Atlanta downtown, tips and tricks, and just absolutely iconic. I was truly inspired as a performer.
