In a move aimed at enhancing its operations and ensuring the seamless monitoring of sensitive equipment and services, Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with National Petroleum Telecommunications Limited (NAPET), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). The collaboration was formalized following a meeting between the management teams of both organizations during a visit by NIGCOMSAT to NAPET.
Tukur Mohammed Lawal, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, led the company’s management team during the visit and expressed confidence in their capacity and manpower to provide satellite solutions to NAPET and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. The strategic partnership is expected to bolster NIGCOMSAT’s business enterprise and pave the way for sustainable growth.
Dr. Adamu Idris, the General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Special Projects at NIGCOMSAT, stated in a press release that the partnership offers the company a strategic pathway to maintain and expand its satellite services.
Lawal commended the contributions of NNPC and its subsidiary, NAPET, in driving economic growth within Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of reliable services provided by NNPC in supporting the nation’s economy.
Sanusi Yerima, the Managing Director of NAPET, expressed his confidence that the strategic alliance would result in significant upgrades to NNPC’s infrastructure.
He said “We are hitting the ground running, I do not believe in low hanging fruit, we can do business anywhere in the world. l believe in where we can get business and make profit’’
He further highlighted NIGCOMSAT’s “on the move vehicle” infrastructure, which enables the provision of satellite services in remote areas, in the air, and on the sea. This advanced technology has garnered praise for its versatility and effectiveness in delivering critical services.
