MTN Nigeria PLC, a Nigerian telecommunications behemoth, has dismissed allegations of a planned strike by the Private Telecommunications and Communications Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PTECSSAN) over service conditions
In a statement signed by its President, Mr Opeyemi Tomori PTECSSAN issued a 14-day ultimatum on Tuesday, to warn the public of impending industrial action.
According to the company secretary, Uto Ukpanah, MTN Nigeria is dedicated to maintaining its existing channels of communication with PTECSSAN and its representatives. We are certain that any complaints will be brought to our attention and addressed in a mutually beneficial manner.
MTN Nigeria’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Esther Akinnukawe, commented on the situation, saying, “Over the past two decades, MTN Nigeria has established a ‘people first’ culture that values diversity, nclusivity, and hard work.” The Company is committed to developing its employees and instilling a sense of responsibility for our customers and communities in them. “All MTNERs are free to exercise their freedom to free association,” she says, adding that “this is what characterizes and connects us.”
