Lagos Island Council Chairman Appoints Ajagbe Teslim as Special Adviser on Digital Communications

Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has announced the appointment of esteemed journalist Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim as the Special Adviser on Digital Communications to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo.

The appointment, disclosed in an official statement released on Thursday by Council Chairman Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo and signed by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Jubrila Kabiawu, is set to take immediate effect. Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim, a highly influential figure in the media industry, has been selected to bring his expertise and wealth of experience in digital journalism to support the council’s administration.

Ajagbe is widely recognized as the publisher of the well-known online platform, August24news.com, and its sister YouTube channel, August24news TV. The YouTube channel has received prestigious recognition as a Google accredited and certified channel, boasting over 5,000 subscribers and amassing more than 55,000 views.

Throughout his career, Ajagbe has demonstrated brilliance, hard work, and versatility in his reportage. He has distinguished himself in various roles within the media profession, having served as an entertainment reporter, Business Editor, and Political Editor before establishing August24news TV.

Notably, Ajagbe has shown his dedication to public service by previously aspiring for councilorship from Ward E3 in Lagos Island East LCDA under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). This political affiliation and his extensive experience in online digital journalism have played key roles in his selection for the position of Special Adviser.

Ajagbe’s academic background includes holding a Mass Communications National Diploma (ND) from Lagos State Polytechnic, now known as Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu Campus. He further honed his skills by obtaining a National Higher Diploma (HND) in Journalism from the prestigious Times Journalist Institute (TJI) in Surulere, Lagos.

The newly appointed Special Adviser has actively pursued continuous professional development, participating in various workshops, seminars, and training sessions. These experiences have undoubtedly contributed to enhancing his journalism practice and solidifying his position as a top-notch professional within the realm of digital journalism.
