The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) have jointly called for a stronger, unified approach among IT stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation journey. This was the central message at the Principal IT Stakeholders Forum 2025, held in Abuja, where collaboration was identified as the cornerstone of building a truly digital nation.
In his remarks, the Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships, stressed that the vision of a digitally empowered Nigeria cannot be realized in isolation. “Collaboration is the key,” he asserted, emphasizing that partnerships across government, industry, and academia are vital to achieving the nation’s digital goals.
Inuwa highlighted the agency’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) 2024–2027, which focuses on key pillars including digital literacy and talent development, a thriving technology research ecosystem, and enhanced cybersecurity and digital trust. He urged stakeholders to align with NITDA’s ongoing digital literacy and inclusion initiatives to ensure no one is left behind in the digital economy.
The forum, jointly organized by NITDA and the NCS Abuja Chapter, provided a collaborative platform for IT professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders to deliberate on strategies for creating a cohesive and unified technology ecosystem capable of driving national development.

NCS Abuja Chapter Chairman, John Odumesi, noted that the event was designed for stakeholders to “co-create and discuss constructively for a better Nigeria,” stressing that synergy remains essential for accelerating innovation and fostering sustainable growth.
Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society and former Federal Permanent Secretary, commended NITDA for its visionary leadership and timely initiatives. Speaking on the theme “Aligning Perspectives, Building Synergies: Forging a Unified IT Ecosystem for National Growth,” she traced the evolution of Nigeria’s IT sector and emphasized that progress can only be achieved through collaboration, not competition.
“Progress in the IT space cannot be achieved in silos. We must complement one another rather than compete if we are to realize our national aspirations,” she stated.
The forum concluded with a unified call to action, urging stakeholders from all sectors, government, academia, and private industry, to deepen partnerships, align strategies, and collectively drive Nigeria’s digital economy agenda toward sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
