At the heart of the WEETS 2025 Bootcamp, which held on the 11th of September 2025, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos, Princess Olamide Odeneye, a seasoned cybersecurity expert, delivered one of the day’s most impactful sessions. She reminded participants that while technology creates opportunities, it also presents serious risks that cannot be ignored.
Odeneye emphasized that vigilance and proactive safety measures are no longer optional in today’s digital world. Strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regular data backups, she noted, have become essentials. “In cybersecurity, nothing is truly free. Every click, download, or connection has consequences. Staying safe online is staying smart offline,” she cautioned, urging attendees to adopt practical habits to secure both personal and professional data.
From cybersecurity, she transitioned to another pressing challenge in the digital age—work–life balance. She explained that technology, while enabling productivity, can also blur boundaries and drive burnout if not managed wisely. “The more connected we are, the more deliberate we must be about balance. Work is important, but so is life,” Odeneye stressed, encouraging participants to prioritize rest, family, and personal growth alongside their careers.
Her holistic message struck a chord with many attendees. Some described the session on balance as reshaping their definition of success, while others said the cybersecurity training provided them with life-saving strategies for navigating the digital space.
By weaving together technical knowledge with conversations on wellness, leadership, and entrepreneurship, the WEETS Bootcamp once again proved itself to be more than a training program, it is a platform shaping resilient, balanced, and future-ready leaders in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
