The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is proudly displaying its indigenously developed technological products at the 19th Abuja International Trade Fair, currently taking place at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre on Umaru Yar’Adua Way, Airport Road, Abuja.
This year’s participation by NASENI, hosted by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), underscores the agency’s commitment to its 3C’s principle: Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization. The exhibition aims to highlight NASENI’s technological advancements and innovation to both local and international audiences.
Representatives from all 12 of NASENI’s Development Institutes, including NASENI Solar Energy Ltd (NSEL), are present at the fair, showcasing a variety of home-grown technologies. Among the exhibits are the NASENI Transformer, CNG Conversion Centre in Utako, Abuja, Solar CCTV systems, Automatic Change Over Switches, Solar Kit Trainers, Science Kits, Rotary Furnaces, Digital Road Signs, Animal Feeds Machines, and several other innovations.
At the NASENI Day event, Executive Vice Chairman of the agency, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, represented by Director of Information, New Media, and Protocol, Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, spoke about the significance of NASENI’s participation in the trade fair. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to developing technologies that transform Nigeria’s economy, in alignment with NASENI’s mandate and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who serves as the chairman of NASENI’s Governing Board.
“Our presence here is aimed at promoting NASENI’s technologies and research institutes, not just nationwide but globally. This platform creates awareness of NASENI’s innovations and drives increased patronage for the agency,” Ayeoyenikan said. He also noted that in previous editions, NASENI garnered multiple awards and established key partnerships with stakeholders and technology end-users, cementing its place in the trade fair’s history.
He further emphasized NASENI’s unique position as the only federal agency specifically designed to handle research and development, production, and manufacturing in critical areas such as capital goods, machinery, and equipment. The agency’s goal is to build Nigeria’s capacity for industrialization and sustainable development through the domestication and transfer of technologies.
Under the leadership of Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, NASENI has made significant strides in fostering innovation and advancing technology transfer, leading to the development of more products aimed at benefiting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and other end-users.
This year’s trade fair, themed “Mobility: Options for Transportation, Trade Finance and Transportation,” features over 500 exhibitors showcasing more than 10,000 products, solutions, and services to an estimated 100,000 participants.
