Women Empowerment Takes Center Stage as ALX, Others Key Into the Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS) 2024

In a significant step towards advancing women’s participation in the tech industry, the upcoming Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS) 2024 is set to bring together industry leaders and innovators from across all sectors. With support from key players such as ALX, MTN, Geniserve, Digital Reality, Xpress Payment Solutions and others, WEETS 2024 will highlight the critical role of women in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Scheduled for September 27, 2024, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the summit promises to foster discussions on women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and leadership in technology. ALX, in particular, has taken a leading role by committing to present two pivotal topics during the 2-day Advanced Digital Skills Bootcamp for women and girls, from September 19 to 20, 2024. ALX’s involvement underscores its dedication to equipping women with the skills they need to thrive in the digital economy.

The bootcamp, part of the WEET initiative organized by the WEET Foundation, aims to expose participants to emerging trends in the tech world. ALX will present sessions focused on  Education and Skill Development” and “Balancing Work and Life”, ensuring that participants are not only prepared for the future of work but are also positioned to lead conversations around inclusivity and innovation in technology.

The involvement of MTN, Geniserve and Digital Reality, alongside ALX, further strengthens the summit’s agenda. These organizations have shown their commitment to supporting gender equity and promoting the active participation of women in tech.

Commenting on the upcoming summit, Ugochi Emmanuel the convener of WEETS 2024, stated, “We are thrilled to have organizations like ALX, MTN, Geniserve, EXPRESS Payment and Digital Reality supporting the summit.
