Telecommunications giant Globacom has unveiled M-Agric, a comprehensive agricultural support service designed to guide users through the practical steps of managing successful farming enterprises. This initiative covers various sectors, including Livestock, Aquaculture, Cash Crops, and Value-Additions, aligning with Globacom’s commitment to enhancing food sustainability in Nigeria.

M-Agric, launched in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, aims to empower young, innovative Nigerians to venture into farming, thereby promoting food availability and affordability across the nation.

According to a press release from Globacom, M-Agric operates as a lottery service, offering subscribers valuable tips on growing their own food and maximizing the opportunities within the agricultural sector. Subscribers can receive these insights daily, weekly, or monthly, directly on their mobile devices. Additionally, they have the chance to participate in trivia contests related to agriculture, with the opportunity to win cash prizes, farm equipment, and even farm internships.

The subscription cost for M-Agric is N50 per day, N200 per week, and N500 per month. New and existing Glo customers, both prepaid and postpaid, can enjoy a free trial of the service for one day. Each week concludes with a lottery draw, where subscribers who have correctly answered trivia questions stand a chance to win.

Globacom explained that winners are determined based on their performance in the trivia quizzes. “The lottery draw offers substantial prizes to the top quiz performers, with two winners emerging weekly to receive remarkable gifts,” the company stated.

To join the M-Agric service, prospective users can dial 207912# and follow the prompts. By answering just three questions related to the day’s topic, subscribers can also earn instant airtime or cash rewards based on their performance.
