The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is spearheading a major push to bridge the country’s digital divide with the launch of its inaugural Digital Awareness and Sensitization Forum, scheduled for November 13, 2025. Themed “Leaving No One Behind: Digital Assets, Equity, and Empowerment,” the event aims to unite policymakers, tech experts, innovators, and community stakeholders to explore actionable solutions for digital inclusion.

Recognizing Nigeria’s young population as a national asset, over 60% under the age of 25, the NCC is emphasizing the need to harness this demographic for national development. The forum will focus on ensuring accessible digital infrastructure, promoting adaptive digital literacy programs, and making technology affordable for underserved communities.

The event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and innovation exhibitions, offering participants a chance to showcase technologies and solutions that reflect Nigeria’s creative potential. Fintechs, students, and innovators will all take the stage, demonstrating the possibilities of a digitally empowered society.

Collaboration is at the heart of the forum. NCC has partnered with agencies and organizations such as the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Association of Nigerian Inventors (ANI), KOICA, FintechNGR, Terra Industries, and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to make the event impactful and inclusive.

For those who cannot attend in person, the forum will be livestreamed, ensuring nationwide participation. By connecting policymakers, innovators, and the public, NCC is creating a platform to drive equitable access, foster innovation, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the digital economy.

This initiative signals a new era where technology and inclusion work hand in hand, ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind as the nation accelerates toward a fully connected and digitally empowered future.
