The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, from flying within Nigeria for six months, following a disturbing incident onboard a ValueJet Airlines flight that posed a potential threat to passenger safety.
The announcement was made during the TVC News midday broadcast on August 7, 2025.
According to reports, the incident occurred on August 6, when Wasiu Ayinde allegedly attempted to board the flight with alcohol, which he reportedly spilled on airline security personnel and the pilot during a confrontation. This altercation led to his immediate disqualification from the flight.
A preliminary report issued by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has indicted the musician, citing his aggressive behaviour and violation of aviation safety protocols. The agency noted that such actions not only endangered the airline crew but also disrupted flight operations and compromised security.
As a result of NCAA’s action, Wasiu Ayinde is banned from using any Nigerian airport or domestic airline until February 2026.
The authorities emphasized that maintaining discipline and safety within the aviation sector is non-negotiable, and no individual, regardless of status,, is above the law.
