Moniepoint Inc., a leading African fintech company, has taken another bold step in youth empowerment by partnering with the Mega Impact Foundation to support the 5th edition of the NextGen Connect Interschool Oratory Competition held in Asaba, Delta State.
The competition, commemorating the International Day of the Boy Child, gathered SS2 students from schools across Delta to explore the timely topic: “The Role of Financial Inclusion and Technology in Shaping a Brighter Future for Young People in Africa.” Moniepoint’s involvement underscores its strategic focus on building human capital through education and innovation.
Otovo Praise of Crystalloid International School clinched the top prize, earning a full-year scholarship through the Tosin Eniolorunda STEM Foundation. Audi Innocent of St. Patrick’s College came second with a ₦300,000 award, while Asher David of Glorious Kids Academy received ₦200,000 for third place.
Speaking on the impact of the initiative, Moniepoint CEO Tosin Eniolorunda said, “Empowering young minds is at the heart of our commitment to sustainable innovation. These students represent the voices and vision of tomorrow’s Africa. Through platforms like this, we nurture confidence, literacy, and leadership.”
Beyond the cash prizes, the competition served as a dynamic platform for young people to hone public speaking skills, engage in critical thinking, and connect technology to real-world solutions.
