The highly anticipated Nollywood movie Radio Voice premiered in grand style at the iconic Alliance Française, Mike Adenuga Centre, in Ikoyi, Lagos, drawing an elite audience of film industry veterans, dignitaries, and notable personalities from diverse sectors.
The emotionally stirring film, which chronicles the journey of resilience, passion, and personal transformation, features an ensemble cast of Nollywood’s finest—including Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), Nse Ikpe Etim, Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon, Damilola Adegbite, and Timini Egbuson. RMD, who also produced the movie, emphasized the film’s significance during his red-carpet remarks, calling it “a triumph of the human spirit over adversity.”
He added, “Radio Voice is about the lives of people behind the mic, the struggles they face—including cyberbullying—and how they rise above challenges to find their voice and succeed. It’s a powerful story that everyone needs to experience.”
The film is being actively promoted by the Office of the Vice President as part of the Federal Government’s renewed focus on the Creative Arts and Digital Transformation, recognizing Nollywood as a key driver of cultural influence and economic growth.
When asked about his renewed venture into movie production, RMD shared: “It’s time when it’s time. I’ve produced before, but this is the first in this new era, and it feels right.”
Globacom, a major supporter of Nigeria’s entertainment landscape, was also highlighted for its continued patronage of the creative industry. Since its inception in 2003, the telecoms giant has signed several actors, musicians, and comedians as brand ambassadors and sponsored top-tier reality shows including X Factor, Glo Naija Sings, Battle of the Year, and Dance with Peter, in addition to organizing concerts that empower emerging talents.
The premiere of Radio Voice not only reinforces Nollywood’s storytelling excellence but also celebrates the synergy between art, advocacy, and innovation—setting a bold precedent for socially resonant filmmaking in Nigeria.
