The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of one of its sanitation workers, Mr. Bashiru Nuhu, who lost his life in a road accident in the Ketu area.

According to LAWMA, the unfortunate incident occurred when a speeding mini-bus lost control and crashed into one of its stationary operational trucks, which was properly parked with its amber warning lights on during a routine waste evacuation exercise. The agency clarified that contrary to some reports, the truck was not in motion at the time of the accident.

LAWMA extended its heartfelt condolences to Mr. Nuhu’s family, colleagues, and loved ones, honoring his dedication to keeping Lagos clean. The agency also announced that it has launched a thorough investigation, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to uncover the full details of the incident and ensure justice is served.
