As part of its commitment to empowering women in technology, Moniepoint Inc., one of Africa’s fastest-growing financial institutions, has expanded its Women in Tech program. In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the company announced an increase in available internship roles from 10 to 15, reinforcing its dedication to bridging the gender gap in the industry.
This expansion aligns with the IWD 2025 theme, “Accelerate Action,” which emphasizes the urgency of closing gender disparities across various sectors. Despite making up nearly half of Nigeria’s population, women constitute only 25% of the country’s tech workforce, highlighting the need for more initiatives that promote inclusion. Moniepoint’s Women in Tech program provides aspiring female tech professionals with practical experience, mentorship, and the chance to contribute to real-world projects in the digital finance sector.
For the 2025 edition, 15 selected interns—known as the “Dream 15”—will take part in a six-month paid internship across multiple disciplines, including Cloud Engineering, Backend Engineering, Technical Product Management, Data Engineering, Systems Administration, Technical Support, and User Experience. Participants will receive mentorship, work tools, branded merchandise, and potential job offers based on their performance.
