The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) hosted a specialized training workshop for members of the Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF). The initiative underscores NDPC’s drive to equip international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) operating in Nigeria with the necessary skills and knowledge to uphold data security standards.
Representing NDPC’s National Commissioner and CEO, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, the Head of Research and Development, Dr. Tolulope Pius-Fadipe, addressed participants on the critical role of data protection in building trust, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and supporting Nigeria’s growing digital economy. She reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to promoting responsible data management across all sectors.
Throughout the workshop, attendees engaged in hands-on discussions, exchanging best practices and strategies for implementing effective data security measures. The sessions provided INGOs with valuable insights into compliance obligations and reinforced the importance of integrating global data protection standards into their operations.
As part of its ongoing mission, NDPC continues to spearhead initiatives that enhance digital security and align Nigeria’s data governance policies with international best practices. The commission remains committed to fostering a secure and accountable digital ecosystem that safeguards personal and organisational data.
