Tragedy struck in Ahoada West, Rivers State, as the police apprehended a notorious crime suspect, Nkem ThankGod, also known as “Two Man,” for a string of horrifying crimes, including murder, kidnapping, and destruction of property.
One of Nkem’s alleged victims was a 68-year-old woman whose grieving son recounted the gruesome details of her death. According to the victim’s son, Nkem murdered his mother and buried her remains in a shallow grave. However, thanks to the intervention of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ahoada West, her body was exhumed, bringing closure to the grieving family. “I’m deeply grateful to the police for their relentless effort in ensuring justice,” he said.
Further investigations revealed the suspect’s involvement in a wave of violence that has terrorized the region. On the same day as the elderly woman’s murder, Nkem reportedly killed a husband and wife in Obolobo community. He is also accused of killing a police officer, stealing the officer’s weapon, and vandalizing government property. These acts of brutality have cemented his reputation as a dangerous criminal in Ahoada West and neighboring areas.
For months, Nkem was on the security watch list, with law enforcement intensifying efforts to apprehend him. His arrest has brought a sense of relief to the community, which has been gripped by fear over his alleged crimes.
The shocking nature of the case has sparked discussions about rising violence and moral decay. While some see it as a reflection of societal decline, others call for greater vigilance and stronger law enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
Police have assured residents of their commitment to maintaining law and order. As the suspect faces justice, the community hopes for healing and a return to peace. “May God take control,” a local resident remarked, echoing the sentiments of a shaken region.
