The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has mandated all licensed telecommunications operators to update their contact information by January 9, 2025. This directive, issued under the Licensing Regulations 2019, is part of the Commission’s efforts to enhance regulatory efficiency and foster better collaboration across Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.
Reuben Mouka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, highlighted that operators must submit updated contact details through the Commission’s eServices platform. Any changes to contact information must also be reported to the NCC within seven days of occurrence.
Information to Be Updated
Telecom operators are required to provide the following details:
- Business Address: Including postcode, geographic coordinates, and notable landmarks.
- Mailing Address: If different from the physical location.
- Email Contacts: Active and routinely monitored addresses.
- Phone Numbers: Current and operational.
- Key Personnel Information: Names and roles of individuals responsible for regulatory and operational matters.
The NCC has warned that failure to comply with this directive could attract significant consequences, such as fines, licence suspension, or even revocation. While specific penalties were not disclosed, the Commission emphasized the importance of accurate contact information to maintain effective industry communication and regulatory oversight.
