ALX Africa, the continent’s top tech learning accelerator, was celebrated at the Women Entrepreneurs & Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS) 2024, where it received the prestigious Outstanding Leader in Technology Accelerator Award. The award was accepted by Adebimpe Odunlana, ALX’s Partnership Lead, during the summit held at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce & Industry (LCCI).
The summit, which brought together women from across various industries, kicked off with an inspiring boot camp. Helen Eboagwu, Manager of Operations at ALX, delivered a keynote titled “Balancing Work & Life”, addressing the increasing pressures modern women face in managing both professional careers and personal responsibilities. She highlighted the importance of intentional time management, mental well-being, and setting boundaries to prevent burnout. “Prioritizing self-care is essential to achieving sustainable professional growth,” she emphasized.
Odunlana also took the stage in a panel discussion on AI Leadership: Navigating the Future of Women in Business. She shared insights on the evolving role of women in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the importance of strategic leadership in guiding tech-driven businesses. “AI is reshaping industries, and women leaders have the opportunity to leverage its power to transform business landscapes. The future of leadership lies in being both strategic and innovation-driven,” she stated.
The event served as a key platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration among women executives, industry leaders, and innovators, all focused on fostering growth in technology and leadership.
In her closing remarks, summit organizer Ugochi Emmanuel thanked ALX for its continuous support and groundbreaking contributions to the tech ecosystem, helping to empower the next generation of leaders.
