The Women Entrepreneurs and Executives in Tech Summit (WEETS) 2024 Boot Camp, held at the Digital Bridge Institute in Oshodi, Lagos, on Thursday, 19th of September, 2024, brought together women and girls from across the tech and entrepreneurial sectors for an immersive learning experience. The event was packed with insights into innovative business models, Diversity and inclusion in AI workforce, work-life balance strategies, and the power of mentorship, equipping participants with the skills to thrive in the fast-evolving digital economy.
Ugochi Emmanuel, Project Coordinator for WEETS 2024, opened the boot camp with a message of unity and growth, encouraging participants to leverage the learning and networking opportunities.

Prince Gideon Tobiloba, Managing Director of Pagge Comms & Tech, kicked off the workshop with a compelling session on Disruptive Technologies, focusing on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (MI), and Telemedicine into business models. Tobiloba emphasized that these technologies are not meant to replace human effort but to enhance productivity and innovation.
“AI is not here to take away your life but to help you achieve your goals,” Tobiloba stated, urging participants to embrace precision and flexibility in their approach to technology adoption.
He also discussed the challenges posed by these rapid advancements, reminding the audience of the importance of adaptability in the digital age.

Helen Eboagwu, Manager of Operations at ALX, led an insightful session on Balancing Work and Life, offering practical strategies for women managing careers in tech. Eboagwu shared tools for achieving harmony between professional and personal demands, encouraging participants to prioritize mental health and set boundaries.
“Success in tech doesn’t mean sacrificing your personal life,” Eboagwu noted, sharing advice on time management and self-care.
This resonated with the women and girls in the audience who juggle leadership roles in both their careers and family lives.
Mentorship and Networking: Keys to Career Advancement
Dapo Daramola, a seasoned expert in professional development, closed the series of sessions with a talk on Mentorship and Networking. He emphasized that mentorship and networking are crucial for career advancement, especially in industries like tech where connections can open new doors.
“Success is rarely a solo journey,” Daramola said, encouraging participants to actively seek out mentors and build strong professional networks.
His session inspired many to take proactive steps in expanding their connections and seeking guidance from experienced leaders.
