Olieh Somtochukwu, an employee of a real estate firm in Anambra State, has emerged as the first millionaire in Globacom’s Glo Jolly Win promo. The lucky winner claimed the N1 million cash prize after participating in the promo by entering with just N100 in August.
The Glo Jolly Win promo, organized in partnership with Nitroswitch and Tetragrammaton, gives Glo subscribers the opportunity to win cash prizes and airtime by answering trivia questions or spinning a wheel. Somtochukwu, selected in a draw conducted under the National Lottery Regulatory Commission’s (NLRC) guidelines, received his prize at an event in Lagos. He confirmed receiving the credit alert for the N1 million before the ceremony ended.
Expressing his surprise and gratitude, Somtochukwu shared that the windfall came at a critical time, helping him address health issues. “I thought it was a scam when I got the call, but now I’m thrilled. I’ve already received the N1 million, and I couldn’t be happier,” he said.
Mojeed Aluko, from Globacom’s Value-Added Services (VAS) Department, explained that the Glo Jolly Win promo is designed to reward subscribers with airtime and cash prizes for as little as N100 per day. Participants can engage in trivia questions, spin the wheel, or choose services like Jolly Trivia, Wheel, Win & Life, without needing to download or store anything on their phones.
Chidi Nnadozie, CEO of Nitroswitch, hailed the collaboration with Globacom, saying the lottery initiative brings excitement and rewards to subscribers across the country. Nitroswitch, licensed by the NCC as a VAS aggregator, plays a key role in delivering content services, including lottery, to mobile operators in Nigeria.
