The Forum of Women in Film and TV in Nigeria (FWIFT Nigeria) has officially announced the 2024 Women in Film and TV Conference, set to take place on September 18, 2024, at the Africa Creative Market, hosted at the Landmark Events Center, Victoria Island, Lagos. The highly anticipated event will bring together some of Africa’s most influential women in the film and television industry to discuss the future of storytelling, amplify female voices, and foster new collaborations aimed at elevating African narratives on the global stage.
A prestigious lineup of speakers is slated for the conference, including notable figures such as Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Honorable Hannatu Musa Musawa, Alison Richards, Managing Director of Noni Movies, acclaimed actress and FWIFT Nigeria President Joke Silva (MFR), Fatou Jupiter, President of Women in Film and Television Senegal, Ego Boyo, Managing Director of Temple Productions and Temple Media, and celebrated Nigerian film director Mildred Okwo, among others.
Joke Silva, Nollywood icon and FWIFT Founder, expressed the significance of the event, stating, “This conference is dedicated to building a legacy of empowered African women in film and television.
