NITDA Hosts Landmark IPv6 Driven Digital Summit in Collaboration with Huawei and Industry Partners

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Huawei, the IPv6 Forum, and the IPv6 Council Nigeria, successfully hosted the IPv6 Driven Digital Summit, themed “Bringing Net 5.5G Into Reality: Inspiring New Growth.” The event, held at the Digital Economy Complex in Mbora, marked a pivotal moment in advancing Nigeria’s digital technology landscape, emphasizing the critical need for transitioning to IPv6 to meet the future demands of the internet.

In his keynote address, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, highlighted the summit’s objective of driving Nigeria’s digital transformation. He emphasized the potential of IPv6 in unlocking new growth opportunities, underscoring its importance for the nation’s ongoing digital progress.

At the summit, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to accelerating diversification through industrialization, digitization, creative arts, manufacturing, and innovation. Abdullahi emphasized that these efforts are designed to deepen growth and innovation, unleash the full potential of the digital economy, and raise awareness about the critical role of IPv6.

The summit also served as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration among stakeholders within Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. Discussions centered on creating an actionable roadmap to promote IPv6 adoption across the country, ensuring that Nigeria remains at the forefront of global digital innovation and growth.
