Remarkably, during the widespread internet disruptions caused by submarine cable cuts in Nigeria and West Africa in March this year, Glo 1 continued to operate without any issues. This reliability allowed financial institutions, ISPs, and other data users on Glo 1-powered networks to maintain normal operations. To further enhance service delivery, Globacom has upgraded the Glo 1 underwater fiber cable infrastructure. The company stated that these improvements ensure the fastest and most reliable direct connection to London, characterized by the lowest latency, which translates to highly dependable and rapid internet access.
The capacity boost of Glo 1 complements the ongoing technological enhancements of the Glo network architecture, promising users a unique calling and browsing experience.
