Renowned social activist and comedic content creator, Debo Adebayo, who is famously recognized as Mr. Macaroni, has taken a stand against the actions of the National Assembly’s leadership. The leaders have come under scrutiny for distributing funds amongst themselves for personal vacations, a move that has drawn criticism considering the overwhelming challenges faced by the Nigerian populace.

Mr. Macaroni’s response was prompted by a viral video circulating on the internet. The footage captures the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, addressing fellow assembly members during a formal session. In the video, Akpabio announces the distribution of money among their ranks for holiday purposes, a decision that has fueled public outrage given the significant hardships experienced by the citizens of Nigeria.

“a token has been sent to their various accounts to enable them enjoy their holiday”, he said.

In a tweet shared on Wednesday via his Twitter account, the actor raised a thought-provoking query regarding the necessity for underprivileged Nigerians to finance the opulent lifestyles of their governing figures.

“The Senate President has sent very expensive prayers out of the insufficient blessings of over 200 million people to himself and his already blessed colleagues at the National Assembly.

“These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.

“Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not for our leaders?
“Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness and sacrifice??
“Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!”, he tweeted.
